Here’s the just-released Common Application info by the numbers for 2013-2014. The biggest numbers:

— 3.3 million applications were submitted through the Common Application for 2013-2014.
— There were 754,545 unique applicants—that’s up 13 percent from last year.
— On December 31, 2013, 154,903 applications were submitted—that’s 5.2 applications per second!
— And, of course, one of my favorite stats from the Common App: 1,763,180 writing supplements were submitted. Way to go, everyone!
