Welcome to Applying to College!
I teach students nationwide what I know and love – impactful writing and successful interview skills. I help students from high school through grad school craft memorable personal statements, and teach young people (12 through first job) how to showcase their strengths and experiences in interviews that get results.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Cornell University and a Master of Science degree from Boston University’s College of Communication. After a 20 year career in television, which included a Writers Guild Award for All My Children and two Emmy® Award nominations, I founded First Impressions College Consulting.
What’s a soap opera writing doing teaching college application essays?
When I wrote for television, I had to create interesting and compelling stories that held the viewer’s attention. That’s exactly what a great college application essay needs to do.
